Join us for our ever popular War on the Line weekend as this year commemorates two important anniversaries; the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain and on the 6th June the 66th Anniversary of D-Day .
Journey through war time Hampshire to see civilian and military re-enactors, air displays, vehicles and lots more! It’s a great day out for all the family and friends – fabulous weekend of nostalgia.
At Alton station get a taste for some bread and dripping, meet author Richard Holdsworth signing his book ‘Six Spoons of Sugar, and sing and dance along to Blitz and Pieces. At Medstead & Four Marks you can sample life on the Home Front – learn how to cook, clean and get by on rations with the Ministery of Food, Land Army, NAAFI and Home Guard! Vintage vehicles will be on display and a special rememberance service wil be held on Sunday 6th June. At Ropley you can see the Spitfie with working Merlin engine, the Observer Corp. and RAF Plotting Station. Visit the meorabilia stands and meet the Hurricane Society and the Coldsteam Guards and watch the bomb disposal demonstrations. At Alresford meet the 514th Re-enactment group with a fine collection of military vehicles and when you feel the ground rumble beneath your feet you’ll know the Lancaster is approaching for its flypast!
